I only caught a portion of the 1st last night (it’s tough to watch anything at all with a 1 1/2 year old), but Rinne did not look sharp, and the puck seemed to be in the defensive zone too much. Seemed like Subban kept them out of a big hole - but obviously they bounced back.

Don’t we all? Seems to me that Nashville is in a bit of a window, due to Rinne’s age, and this needs to be the year?

But the rest of the team has a lot of time, so maybe it’s just a window for Rinne that’s closing, and they can continue on if they can replace Rinne in a year or two.

Considering who the GM there is, I suspect Poile will find a way...

It’s definitely a CP...but it is one of the first ‘Busa conversions that I’ve seen that started as a glider, that’s nice.

When 2002s were federalized for import, many companies got the idea of turning them into electric cars. So deals were worked out with smart to pull unfinished cars from the production line and ship them to the States. They’d be complete save for electrical wiring, engine, and transmission.

The idea was that the EV company would put their own traction motor, transmission, and electrical.

Of the not that many gliders imported to the States, few actually became the EVs they were destined to be. I’d wager that most of them are still gliders.

The guy I picked my 450 cabrio from has a glider in his garage from one of these failed ventures. It was actually pretty awesome to see a factory fresh, two decade old car. He was going to finish it as a normal petrol smart but never got around to doing the project.

The top 2 teams in a division, let alone league, should not play each other in the 2nd round. It’s happened multiple times in the West and East since they changed the format that allowed this to happen.

lol were you calling vegas a super team after the expansion draft? because literally nobody was, nobody was saying this was rigged until the Knights started playing well. who would have thought a bunch of draft picks and guys who made up the 3rd and 4th lines of every other team would do so well right? you have to be fooling yourself if you think its rigged. instead why not just enjoy the miracle that is the knights season. the Expansion draft worked as intended, the only difference is that unlike years past, there was only one expansion team. for someone who loves hockey you certainly dont act like it. expansion is good for the sport. seattle come into the league in 2 years is gonna be fantasic and hopefully just as magical

James Neal was not a 3rd and 4th liner. Fluery was not a backup goalie. A lot of these players were 2nd line players. No team has a full team of 2nd line players except Vegas. Expansion is good yes, but giving them the freedom they were allowed to have with picks was not right. The way they had the expansion draft was a complete overreaction to the late 90s and early 2000s goof of not giving the teams enough help. It especially didn’t help that Vegas had no competition in the expansion draft. Should have had 2 teams drafting. There is no other way GMGM should have had it that easy.

College basketball works because of the sheer size of the tournament and NCAA in general and the “divisions” in the tournament are largely made up and arbitrary, why shouldnt the two best teams in the divison play for the division title, then the two best teams in each division play for the conference? baseball has been doing it for decades and its worked really well. the only thing id like baseball to do differently is to now become more like the NHL and instead of having one game playoffs for the wildcard make them a best 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 series.

lol do you honestly believe william karlsson, with all of 6 goals last year was a 2nd line starter? or cody eakin with 3? fluery and neal are the exceptions to the rule, they are also the older players. a lot of the younger players were bottom six forwards and everyone after the draft was laughing at how shit awful they were. i swear its like fans of teams who had never won a cup before got a Napoleon complex over the Knights because this plucky team of those thought to be past their prime and those who never lived up to their full potential actually put together a historic season. the way i see it, no team got worse because Vegas “stole” a player from them. the league largely remained the same.

I didn’t say that those players were top liners because they are having great seasons. As a Leafs fan, you should be just as mad. but thats not the case, the 3rd and 4th best teams wont be coming in to play the winner of the 1st and 2nd best teams, the best team in the central will be playing the best team in the pacific for the conference, it doesnt get any simpler than that. the central and pacific should be playing for the conference, otherwise whats the point of even having divisions. obviously there are exceptions to the rules, when one division does manage to get 5 teams into the playoffs but thats only happened like twice since this new playoff format came to be. also one of those articles was from 2011, before they even changed the playoff format to its final form. the current playoffs work because it gets casual hockey fans into it. and only leaves the homers and critics salty. also any article that seems to agree with Don Cherry is nothing but hot air.

Look ill admit Bettman is a troll, but like it or not he has done great things for the sport, and its bringing in record money. and id rather have him at the helm than Goodell or Manfred. the things hes gotten the NHL to do to support local hockey in non-traditional markets is the reason the NHL had a number 1 draft pick come out of the state of arizona. and the hockeyville campaign is injecting tons of money into towns that otherwise wouldnt be able to afford to keep rinks open. and individual teams like the blackhawks and islanders and more are bringing hockey to kids who wouldnt otherwise be able to afford the price of admission. the lockouts aside the state of the NHL is in good shape. and its only going to get better in the next few years with seattle coming in and the salary cap rising

I honestly thing McFee has actually learned from his mistakes, Free agency will be interesting but im confident this season wasnt a fluke. with all the draft picks they still have and prospects they have coming up in the pipeline theyre gonna be contenders for the next few years. but ill guess there will always be doubters and naysayers

refs in general have been getting worse and worse. not just in the NHL. the MLB, NBA, and NFL all have problems and i think part of the problem is if i remember correctly they arent even full time employees. so it creates a lot of discrepencies and gaps when, even though you have guys like Wes McCaully whose been doing this longer than what seems like ive been on this earth, you still have a few months out of the year where theyre just sitting around doing nothing.

The fact that Pekkas mask was broken/loose last night, and they allowed play to continue even with him telling them to stop play, leading to a goal... And then the missed tripping that happened to Ellis leading to a goal... Ugh. The Preds blew it but the Refs made Pekka mad and it is very difficult to make Pekka mad.

wait, did he just tell them the mask was loose and he needed a whistle or did his helmet come off? cause every goalie worth his salt knows as soon as you feel its loose you shake it off your head to stop play. a ref isnt going to stop play just because a goalie thinks his mask is loose, they only stop play once the mask fully comes off. so if the mask fully came off and they didnt stop play then yeah thats on the refs

Straps were hanging and it was sliding down(took a shot to the mask right before that). He the ref was right behind him and he was yelling a the ref. Too dangerous to the mask off..

If the Jets maintained possession and had an iminnent scoring chance play continues. Play would have only been stopped in the mask fell off and the preds had control. The refs actually made the right call then according the the rulebook
